Funny you should post this. I have just been looking at a new Buck-Stars by me and the whole drive through thing I find a bit weird. The are now free to put Starbucks anywhere. Witness the new one by the Boeing Space Center.
In the old days they had to put them where people were and where they had to get out of their car and go inside to order. It created a kind of friendly culture. Not like Europeans who hang out in coffee shops but at least more than was traditional in the US. I kind of liked that about Starbucks and often go into one for a cuppa and to sit down and relax or work or just interact. Now it is much less personal and does not create that sense of community. Better for the bottom line but maybe not better for people. B
